ملخص البحث المنشور:
This study titled focuses on the use of 3D virtual modeling and printing technology in preoperative planning for complex congenital and pediatric cardiac surgeries. The researchers created virtual and physical 3D models from CT angiography data to better understand intricate anatomical structures and to plan surgical procedures more effectively. These 3D models allowed for hands-on preoperative surgical planning and emulation, improving intraoperative orientation and potentially reducing operative time and risk. The models provided new insights into patient-specific anatomy, which was sometimes not fully apparent from standard imaging techniques. This advanced understanding enabled surgeons to modify surgical plans and approaches, thus facilitating safer and potentially more effective surgeries. The significance of this study lies in its potential to revolutionize preoperative planning in complex cardiac surgeries. By integrating 3D modeling into surgical preparation, the research demonstrates how these tools can improve understanding among multidisciplinary teams, enhance communication with patients and their families, and contribute to the safety and success of high-risk surgeries. This approach could lead to a new standard of care that significantly impacts patient outcomes in complex cardiac procedures.
